It was a quiet weekend. Most of what follows was announced on Thursday 10 September and reached the trade press on Friday; Revolut’s disclosure, reported on Saturday, is the one new item.
Ant International’s Agentic Mobile Protocol, the open payment protocol it launched in April for AI agents paying through digital wallets, is now live in ten of them: Alipay, AlipayHK, DANA, GCash, KakaoPay, MPay, TNG eWallet, TrueMoney, Toss and Starryblu[1][2]. On the merchant side, seven acquirers carry it: Adyen, Allinpay, Checkout.com, Fiserv, Global Payments, Nuvei and Worldline[1][2]. The release, dated 10 September 2026, also puts the protocol on GitHub as open source, with SDKs and documentation[1][2].
The release makes two numeric claims. It says the protocol “cuts steps required to link a payment agent to a wallet by 50%”, and that its agent-to-agent settlement handles transactions “as tiny as $0.000001”[1]. Merchants get AgentSafePay, which it describes as a “money-back guarantee for merchants against agentic-specific risks”[1]. It does not say who funds that guarantee, how much it pays out, or which disputes count as agentic[1].
If you already take Alipay+ through one of those seven acquirers, agent-initiated wallet payments can reach you on the contract you already have, with no card-network pilot to sign. Put the three AgentSafePay blanks to the acquirer before a finance team counts on the guarantee.
Revolut sent KYC files in answer to a fake government request
Revolut confirmed that it disclosed sensitive customer information to an unauthorised third party after receiving fraudulent requests “sent from a legitimate government agency email domain”, TechCrunch reported on 12 September 2026[3]. According to the customer notice TechCrunch reviewed, the data included copies of passports and driving licences, and possibly verification selfies, account statements and transaction histories[3]. The Block’s list adds IBANs, withdrawal records and Bitcoin transaction histories[4]. Revolut declined to say how many customers were affected, whether one market was involved, or which agency’s domain was used[3][4]. Its spokesperson said “Revolut systems and customer funds are unaffected”[3].
A request from law enforcement lands in the one inbox a compliance team is trained to answer quickly. A real government domain proves that someone got into a government mailbox, so a callback to a number already on file is worth the day it costs before a passport scan leaves the building.
Nu pays 3.50% on USDC, and the Senate votes on stablecoin yield on 15 September
Nu opened in the United States on 10 September 2026. Its new Nu Global account converts deposits into USDC or EURC, “earning a daily yield of 3.50% APY and 2.20% APY, respectively”[5]. Nu Global moves money across more than 35 countries, and its integration with the US is “planned for the months ahead”, so for now it is not a US product[5]. Nu received conditional approval for a US national bank charter in January 2026[5].
The Senate’s cloture vote on the CLARITY Act is scheduled for Tuesday 15 September and needs 60 senators[6]. On 10 September nearly 80 state bankers associations joined the American Bankers Association and the Independent Community Bankers of America to press lawmakers to close what they call “the payment-of-interest loophole for payment stablecoins”[7]. Their letter warns that without amendments to Section 10404, the ambiguity could cause “a flight of deposits to stablecoins with real-world consequences”[6].
The vote is on Tuesday 15 September. Nu Global’s US integration is still “planned for the months ahead”, which puts it on the far side of whatever the Senate does about yield.
